The real cost of luxury- Animal abuse

I would like to start today’s post by discussing some incidents-

“A 12-year-old girl was held captive for a week by 4 men. When police finally tracked them, they had to run away with their hostage. Lions thought that the girl was a baby lion and protected her until the Police arrived”- Bright side

“Dog bites rapist and saves a 14-year-old in Madhya Pradesh from being raped”- India Times

“Mr. Staggal was watching TV with his wife one day when he suddenly lost consciousness. Mrs. Staggal thought that he was just asleep but their rabbit Dory sensed some danger and jumped onto the owner’s chest and tapped intensely until his wife noticed. He was saved just in time from his coma”- Brightside

The above three incidents have one thing in common. Do you see it?

Now, let’s talk about some more facts.

  1. As per Humane Society International, approximately 100000- 200000 animals suffer and die in labs to test cosmetics such as lipstick and shampoo. They have chemicals forced down their throats, dripped into their eyes, and onto their shaved skin.
  2. In many places, Elephants are used for Jungle safari where they are treated in inhumane and insensitive ways.
  3. Fur- farming industries use many animals that are put through unimaginable torture in confined cages.

From cosmetics we use, the clothes we wear, and the food we eat, every single thing has come into existence at the cost of animal blood.

It has just been 6 months since our lives have been hit by COVID and resultant lockdown. We already feel like hell, knowing that it is just temporary. Anytime you buy something which is not vegan, remember, an animal has been put into a lockdown of a lifetime and has been tortured to death. Do you still see any worth in buying such products?

Chose wisely if you are choosing luxury and trends or animal blood?

The main intent of this post is to look into those aspects of our lives where we are hurting other living beings due to our ignorance. They are an essential part of our ecosystem. Superiority does not give us the right to exploit.
