Secrecy of Dreams

“Steam that makes the whistle blow, will not make the engine go”- Napoleon Hill (Good as Gold)

When I was a little girl, I was very enthusiastic about my future. I kept on planning my future and used to discuss it with every soul I could spot. One day, while I was discussing it with my grandmother, she pointed out the importance of maintaining a level of secrecy about our plans. She told me how some people will not understand and will demotivate you.

At that point, I did not understand much. Lately, I have been reading a book by Dr. Joseph Murphy- ‘Power of your Subconscious mind’, where the author talks about the importance of the Subconscious mind and how it helps us to achieve our dreams. As per the author, your subconscious mind acts on your deeper beliefs and emotions and work towards manifesting them. When somebody tells you that something is not possible and you are not capable of achieving it, they influence your emotions and belief system. If they are successful in convincing you that something is not possible, your subconscious mind will take that negative belief and manifest it. The more you come across such people in life, the more you reduce your chances of success.

It is always advised that you believe in your dreams and plans no matter what other people say and have a realistic approach towards it. You should only discuss it with people who are supportive and encourage you to move forward. It is very well said, only the built-in steam can make an engine go.
